MEETEX – Croatian Meeting Experience Summit
Inevitable meeting place for Croatian MICE exhibitors and foreign buyers

MEETEX is the first ever B2B Croatian meeting industry trade show bringing together all major stakeholders from national meeting industry. Over 100 specialists from the meetings, incentive travel and business events sector took part in the 4th Croatian Meeting Industry Forum in Zagreb on December 3.

Paul Kennedy of Kennedy Integrated Solutions showcased the latest trends affecting development of the MICE market in the UK, while two other experts – Prof. Oliver Kesar from the Croatian Zagreb School of Economics and Padraic Gilligan from SoolNua, Ireland – tackled the event’s main theme “The Impact of the Meeting Industry on a Destination”.

The annual Croatian Meeting Industry Ambassador Awards were presented in four categories:

  • For bringing a large and significant international congress to Croatia – Prof.Dr.Sc. Davorin Kolic from the Croatian Tunnel Association.
  • For a public institution promoting the Croatian meeting industry – the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Institute.
  • For the CMPA member responsible for the best organised and handled conference – Gorazd Surla from Valamar Hotels and Resorts.
  • For the CMPA member responsible for organising a high-profile event – Maja Lasic from Alfa Travel Agency in Dubrovnik.

“The aim of the awards is to promote Croatia’s meetings and incentive travel industry and to encourage all stakeholders to propose the country as a fine destination for business events of all kinds,” said CMPA Vice-President, Ranko Filipovic.

The 4th Croatian Meeting Industry Forum


This year’s the 4th Croatian Meeting Industry Forum – organized by Croatian Meeting Professions Association (CMPA) – will gather MICE professionals on 3 December in Zagreb, Croatia. The Forum’s main topic is THE IMPACT OF MEETING INDUSTRY ON A DESTINATION and the keynote speakers are Padraic Gilligan, renowned industry expert of SoolNua MICE consultancy, and Oliver Kesar, a professor at Zagreb School of Economics.

Following the Forum, CMPA starts its first part of certification professionals’ 2-day program dealing with the organization of events. The second part, Croatia as a MICE destination, will take part in early February 2016 following by the exam. The first certificates – CCMEP (Certified Croatian Meetings & Events Professional) – are expected to be presented in the beginning on 2016.

2nd CMPA Annual Assembly


2nd CMPA Annual Assembly was held on Friday, 5 April 2013, in Zagreb, Croatia. It was the opportunity to meet industry colleagues, discuss the Association’s activities and make plans for the future.

CMPA becomes EFAPCO Full Member


We proudly announce that Croatian Meeting Professionals Association has been accepted, as a full member to the family of European Federation of PCOs (EFAPCO) – the first in our region. International membership in such a prominent association is a major step forward in CMPA’s development as well as whole Croatian meeting industry.
